FAQ
Why “Flying Moose Pictures”?
A group of students from Cornell were on a canoe trip in the Adirondacks and discovered huge nests, high in the trees. Being computer geeks, and not naturalists, they were clueless and decided they must have been made by Flying Moose. Some days later, Gary Weigand, Carl Bass, and Jonathan Luskin incorporated Flying Moose Systems and Graphics, a software company. A few years later, Flying Moose moved to California and was bought by Autodesk, making the name available when Mark Leialoha and Jonathan formed Flying Moose Pictures in 2000.
What video production services does Flying Moose Pictures provide?
We are a full-service video production company. We collaborate throughout the entire filmmaking process, from story development, through pre-production, production, post-production, and delivery.
What makes Flying Moose Pictures different?
What differentiates video production at Flying Moose Pictures is our skill in collaborating with our clients to design visually engaging videos and develop a production plan to meet both their needs and budget. We are experts at:
- Capturing engaging, compelling interviews from non-actors.
- Telling stories that communicate technical concepts in clear language, accessible to a non-technical audience.
- Capturing live performance.
Why can’t you simply tell me what a “corporate video” costs?
The very first question many of our clients ask is, “What do your services cost?” Some ask for a rate card, an à la carte list of costs for each of our services. We don’t have a rate card because jumping directly to “what does it cost” without first defining “what it is” and how to best communicate “it” using moving images and sound, does a disservice to our clients. We believe that the very best way to produce the most engaging, effective video, at the most economical cost, is to collaborate with our clients to define the audience, the message, the tone, and the story. From those elements we can design a solution that both meets our client’s budget and their needs.
What should I think about before calling you?
At the core of the creative services we offer at The Moose is assisting clients in understanding how best to meet their communication goals through moving images and sound. So how do we define those goals and solutions? We ask questions! Read example questions by clicking here.
